SURFING
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN TO SURF?
Typically, beginners can expect to stand up and catch their first wave during their first few surfing sessions. However, mastering surfing skills, including balancing, wave reading, and maneuvering, often takes several weeks or months of consistent practice. Factors such as prior experience, physical fitness, and the quality of instruction can also influence learning speed. Overall, approaching surfing with patience, regular practice, and a positive attitude can lead to rapid progress and great experiences in the water.
TO JOIN SURF CAMP DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
Yes – knowing how to swim is super important! Surf camp participants should be able to tread and keep their head above the water, and be able to freestyle.
WHAT IS INSTRUCTOR TO GUEST RATIO?
We maintain a cozy instructor-to-guest ratio—with an average of 2, and a maximum of 3 guests per instructor.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR FOR SURFING IN BALI?
The best time for surfing in Bali is during the dry season, typically spanning from April to October. During this time, Bali experiences dry & sunny weather with consistent swells and favourable offshore winds. Temperatures range from 27°C to 32°C (81°F to 90°F), providing the perfect conditions for beach activities & surfing. The water temperature remains warm around 28°C (82°F) – wetsuits are optional!
Visiting outside of the peak season has its own perks:
Fewer Crowds: Enjoy a more relaxed surfing experience with quieter beaches and fewer people in the lineup.
Still Warm & Sunny: Even in the wet season (November to March), Bali stays warm, with temperatures between 25°C and 30°C (77°F to 86°F), making it perfect for beach days and exploring.
Authentic Local Experience: With fewer tourists around, it’s the perfect time to dive into Bali’s rich culture, try local cuisine, and discover hidden gems off the beaten path.
Great Waves: Off-peak months still bring ideal waves for all levels—gentle breaks for beginners and bigger swells for experienced surfers looking for a challenge.
More Affordable – Accommodations, tours, and activities are often cheaper, making it easier to enjoy Bali without stretching your budget.
Bali offers incredible surf year-round, whether you’re chasing the best conditions in the dry season or looking for a quieter, more budget-friendly adventure in the off-peak months. No matter your skill level, there’s always a wave waiting for you.
